What if I didn't get an offer but would like to purchase a tracking unit?
While we limited the initial
offer to a few customers, there is no reason why you can't also take advantage
of the same offer. Just click the red "ORDER ONLINE!" button
to place your order.
Does the MobileTEEN GPS™ work in any car?
Yes, in any car from 1996 to current models.
Do I need a cell phone to use MobileTEEN GPS™?
No, MobileTEEN GPS™ provides a complete service including the tracker, software and network connectivity to the tracker. All you need is a PC with an internet connection and a vehicle to track! You have four options for tracking. You can access/receive real-time info via e-mail, PC log-in, cell phone, and by dialing our toll free number from any phone.
Where is it installed on the vehicle?
We recommend installation under the car's dash near the OBD2 diagnostics plugin. View the Installation Guide (.pdf).
Is it difficult to install?
Installation takes about 20 minutes. The base model can easily be installed at home, or any mechanic or shop that installs car alarms will consider it to be a relatively easy installation.
Can my teenager disable MobileTEEN GPS™?
Yes, however, you will receive an alert if MobileTEEN GPS™ is disabled. The unit continues to work for 8 hours on battery back-up mode after the power cable is disconnected.
What if my teen speeds or goes outside the GeoFenceSM area when I’m not at my computer?
You can receive alerts on your cellphone telling what the alert is for and the location. For speeding, it will say what the speed is. For breaking a GeoFenceSM, it will give location to within 30 feet, time of day and speed. If the tracker is disconnected another alert will be sent. You can locate the vehicle anytime you do not have Internet access with the VoiceLocateSM feature by dialing the toll-free number from any phone.
I have three teens, each with their own car. Is there a way to share MobileTEEN GPS™ between these vehicles?
It is possible to switch the tracker between the different cars but the installation does take some time so it is not very convenient. It would make more sense to have a tracker in each car. The unit can easily be de-installed and re-installed if you wish to transfer it to another vehicle.
Will my teens feel as if I’m spying on them and have no trust in their actions?
Perhaps, however, it's important to let them know MobileTEEN GPS™ is for their safety. If they have car trouble someone can identify where they are and provide help. It will let them know when they speed and help avoid getting a ticket and keep their insurance costs down. It’s also a way of letting parents know automatically (without having to make a phone call) of when they come and go. Also, if the car is stolen, it can be traced and recovered. See Trust and Accountability.
